So for day one of Blogmas, my challenge was to test and review a brand new moisturiser that I had not tried before.

Product of Choice: Olay Complete Lightweight Day Fluid (sensitive). As I have quite sensitive skin, I normally opt for Simple when buying skincare products. However as I had to review something new, this Olay (sensitive) moisturiser seemed like the perfect choice.

Packaging: The packaging stood out to me as it is primarily yellow - this had a sunshine-type feel to me which I really liked. The packaging was also very useful in advising me as to whether this product was right. Claiming that it has 'multi-layered technology' with 24hr hydration, SPF 15, vitamins B3, E,& PRO-V B5; this moisturiser really stood out in terms of meeting my skin's needs in these brisk winter months! Also I was really impressed by the fact that it is dermatologically tested with aloe vera to calm dry sensitive skin; whilst still managing to be lightweight on your skin. Lastly, the packaging was helpful in suggesting how best to use the moisturiser: apply liberally and gently massage into your face and neck. Overall, my score /100 for the packaging is 80.

Price: The price of this moisturiser when bought from Boots was £2.99 (100ml), reduced from the RRP of £5.99. I was pleasantly surprised with this product for the price of £2.99. I think that for this price it is an extremely good buy for anyone who has sensitive skin and needs extra protection during winter months! However in comparison to my usual Simple moisturiser (125ml) which is only £4.19 in Boots; I am not sure that I would spend the extra money on Olay if it hadn't been reduced. Overall, my score /100 for the price is 70.

Product: When testing this product, like the packaging claims, I have found this moisturiser to be very lightweight on my skin. I found that my skin absorbed the moisturiser almost immediately and kept it very supple and soft throughout the day despite Plymouth's freezing wind! The moisturiser appeared to be unscented - personally I do enjoy a slight scent to my beauty products however I can understand that the moisturiser may have been kept unscented in order to keep its' sensitivity. Finally, my only slight negative would be that the actual bottle size was slightly smaller than I imagined due to its' larger packaging - this is a bit disappointing for me, but nothing that I am too worried about. Overall, my score /100 for the product is 87.

Tanya Burr Cosmetics: Advent Day One.

As you may or may not have seen from my Blogmas post (if you haven't, go and check it out after this one!); today I am excited because it's December and December means Christmas and advent calendars! As you may have also seen from my Tanya Burr advent post, I am even more excited than usual because this year I treated myself to a beauty calendar.

As promised, I intend to blog about each day of my calendar... so here goes!

Day One: Tanya Burr Cosmetics Lip Gloss in 'Candy Cane'.

Despite not usually wearing lip gloss, I was really pleasantly surprised with this product. Firstly, I just LOVE the packaging - I mean who doesn't love rose gold?! I thought the packaging was really cute and was very festive - perfect for December 1st (eek!)

I also love how the lip gloss didn't appear to be downsized in any way - I got the impression that this is the size of the lip gloss as it would be sold in the shops. As this calendar is one of the cheaper beauty advents on the market; this was a nice surprise that I am very happy with! Perfect for slipping in your handbag when you're on the go.

Finally, I usually find most lip glosses very sticky, however this one felt more of a lip stick; yet with the shimmery colour of a lip gloss. The colour itself is a sort of subdued hot pink - nothing too brash. When I first saw the product I was a tad worried that this colour would be too bold for me, however upon trying the lip gloss I found it to be a really lovely shade of raspberry! A great colour when you want to add something a little bit extra special to your outfit without going OTT.

Have you tried any products from Tanya Burr Cosmetics? What's your favourite? x
